The Vintage

The 2013 Vintage was a warm dry one. Again a week of hot weather in January saw the vines shut down and not progress. The vintage went on to be slightly earlier than usual. The fruit looked good with no sign of botrytis.

Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon

The nose of the 2013 Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon is showing some passionfruit, kiwi fruit and citrus overtones with a hint of herbaceousness. On the palate the herbaceousness is amplified combining with the fruit flavours and natural acidity to create a mouth feel and lingering flavours.

This wine will cellar for 8 years plus

Chardonnay

The bouquet of the 2013 Chardonnay is at first closed with it opening up to reveal melon and pears combined with noticeable wood undertones. This continues on to the palate to blend with savoury almond and lemon notes with a luscious mouthfeel and persistent length.

This wine will age 10 years plus.

Gamay

The nose of the 2013 Gamay is fruitful at first opening up to reveal berry notes with earthy overtones. The palate is long and lingering showing more earth but still lots of red fruit flavours. The tantalizing acid and exacting tannin round this wine out to be luscious and flavoursome.

This wine will cellar for 10 years plus.

Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc/Merlot

The bouquet of the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon/ Cabernet Franc/ Merlot is showing dark plums with a hint of blackcurrant. This fruit melds well with the tight acidity, complex fine grain tannins and well integrated oak to create a long lingering palate with a hint of spice.
