2019 Tasting Notes

The Vintage

The 2019 vintage was preceded by a drier winter and spring until drenching rains in December provided good soil moisture for ripening. Fruit was flavoursome and good quality with overall average yield and bunch sizes.

Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon

The nose of the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon is showing a combination of Meyer lemon, grapefruit and a hint of kiwifruit and green pear. These fruits follow on to the palate with a freshness combined with refined acid creating a minerally, well-rounded finish.

Gamay

The 2019 is showing aromatics of sour cherry, red berries and hints of cardamom spice. The red berry fruit carries through onto the palate where fine grain tannins and natural acidity combine with earthy undertones to develop a balanced palate with a lingering finish.

Chardonnay

The bouquet of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc Merlot displays dark berries and cherries. The medley of dark fruit carry on to the palate and combine with refined tannin and elegant acid creating a balanced and rounded mouthfeel with lingering flavours.

Cabernet Sauvignon/ Cabernet Franc/ Merlot

The 2019 Chardonnay shows aromas of white peach with some subtle oak, these characteristics follow on to the palate, combining with bright acidity which opens up the wine and creates a long lingering finish.
